My passion for food began when I was a kid. I have always loved to cook and bake. The first time I cooked a full meal for my family was when I was 10 years old. I remember making a whole chicken, rice, salad and a chocolate cake with frosting all from scratch. I must have gotten this from my mother who is a wonderful home cook and my father who worked as a chef for over 30 years. At our home it was always hands on, from the time we were young our parents always let us help out in the kitchen with cooking. I still remember making homemade breads, cakes, tortillas, gorditas (a sweet cinnamon sugar deep fried bread), rice pudding and many other delicious foods.
I love baking for my family and friends. I truly enjoy making people smile and happy. One way I do this is by baking cupcakes. There's something wonderful and comforting about cupcakes. Doesn’t matter if you're young or old a cupcake will always bring a smile to everyone's face. I'm proud to say my cupcakes have been enjoyed by all age groups, as young as 1 years of age to 100 years of age.
When I met my husband he told me he does not eat sweets. I was a bit concerned since I love sweets, and I would need him to taste any new recipes. This quickly changed, as soon as he tried my baking, he was hooked. We have enjoyed cooking and baking together now for over 12 years. It is so wonderful to have my best friend baking and frosting by my side. We are truly an amazing team.
